Effects

In my piece, I used some effects to change how it sounds as in some cases I wanted a sound piece to seem as if it was recorded from someone talking on the phone. I used both EQ and reverb to get my desired sounds throughout the piece.

Above is my example of using EQ in my work. This is the EQ used on both the first and second track, I used the same effect. The settings for the EQ shown here are used to make it sound like a phone call. Firstly I wanted to give my telephone ring a grittier sound and I wanted it to match my second track which is someone talking about their ordeal.

Above you can now see more EQ that I used on a different track which I used for most of the news reports to make them sound more like a radio feature although it did not have that large of an effect.

In the above two screenshots, I wanted to show my use of Air Reverb however when brought up in pro tools again it seemed to say that I did not have the plugin and I am unsure as to why so I can not, unfortunately, show an example screenshot on this blog post however I have circled in red the tracks which feature the reverb to prove it has in fact been used. The reverb can also be clearly heard within the audio piece itself.

I also used a reverse effect to reverse some of my audio to make it sound like it was being rewound on tape and I also used an effect to speed up my audio so that the rewind effect didn't last too long and take up too much of my audio piece. Where I found these effects can be seen below in the screenshot.
